Barbie Birthday Cake

I was asked this week to make a Barbie Birthday cake for a little girl turning 3 years old.  I was a little nervous at first, 1. because, it was my husbands lieutenants granddaughters birthday, 2. it was for someone I didn't know, and 3. repeat number 1 about 10 times!  Well, I decided what-the-heck and jumped right in. After doing a little research online, I found a cake pan made just for the occasion. The next part, and hardest for me, was to find a doll I could turn into a cake. I knew the colors for the party were pink (thank-goodness because all Barbies are pink and if it had been some random color like....lime green, I would have been in trouble!) I finally found one I thought would fit perfect in the cake and that the little girl would like too.

Snow Day - Day 1, 2, 3 and 4

Every time snow is forecast, I get a little excited. Who wouldn't if it only snowed on average once a year where I grew up.  This week was no different, but in the back of my mind I figured once again the weathermen would get it wrong. I mean who can really get the forecast right a week out. Well they did, and we are going on day 4 of being cooped up in the house.  I love my girls and my husband, but if this stuff doesn't melt soon, I may be forced to do something drastic like....put them ALL out in the kennel. :) Snow days always brings fun photo opps for the dogs. Thought I would share a few or so.
